NFOSiGW has announced a call for applications for energy storage funding (subsidy for BESS in Poland) under the G1.1.3 "Energy Storage Systems" investment program!

It is still unclear what the minimum storage capacity requirement is, but we already know that project evaluation will consider:

  • Support intensity per 1 MW (1-4 points, weight 3, max 12 points)
  • Support intensity per 1 MWh (1-3 points, weight 5, max 15 points)

Key factors influencing the maximum battery cost to obtain the highest score

  1. Support intensity based on the applicant's size – smaller entities can receive higher funding.
  2. Energy storage cost in PLN/MW.
  3. Energy storage cost in PLN/MWh.
  4. Storage duration between 4h and 5h.

📊 Check out the charts below to see the maximum energy storage system cost for specific parameters to achieve the desired number of points in the evaluation.

How did we calculate it?

  1. The method starts by taking the cost limits set in the regulations for power (in MW) and energy (in MWh).
  2. It then converts these limits into maximum allowed project costs by adjusting for the support intensity.
  3. For each criterion, we determine the highest CAPEX value that still meets the threshold.
  4. The effective cost limit for a given score is chosen as the lower of the two values from the power and energy calculations.
  5. Finally, the raw points are weighted (multiplying power points by 3 and energy points by 5) to produce the final NFOSiGW score, showing the maximum cost that still achieves that score.
